The Story

The homeowners approached us to improve the energy efficiency of their family home while making it more comfortable and future-ready. They wanted to reduce reliance on fossil fuels and lower long-term energy bills, without compromising on style or practicality.

Working together, we developed a retrofit plan that balanced their goals and budget. The project included an air source heat pump, solar PV panels, insulation upgrades, and a rear extension for more usable space.

Air Source Heat Pump

A MCS-certified heating system was installed to provide efficient, low-carbon heating and hot water. When paired with the home’s new solar PV system, it enables the use of self-generated renewable electricity for heating, significantly reducing energy bills and emissions.

Radiator Upgrades

All radiators were upgraded and correctly sized to operate efficiently with the lower flow temperatures of the heating system. This ensures consistent warmth, improved system balance, and lower running costs.

Battery Storage

A domestic battery storage system was added to store excess energy for later use. This allows the homeowners to power both their heating system and general electricity needs using self-generated energy, increasing independence from the grid and further cutting bills.
